Photographer | Director
Growing up in South Africa and Canada, I spent most of my childhood on the beaches and mountains. I was the kid who couldn’t do the big snowboard or skateboard tricks so I naturally ended up being the friend filming everyone else doing silly things.
It wasn’t until graduating from film school in 2009 that I received my first digital EOS camera kit, from that point everything changed and I was hooked on capturing still moments - except instead of capturing friends doing ‘Jackass’ stunts I was more focused on the effect of light and how to use it to tell a story. Since then nothing has changed, I spent the early years of my career assisting and learning from some of WA’s best photographers and directors and practising the trade.
My approach to my work is quiet, calm, and considered. I like to use a light touch of quiet humour, building a scene on a clean and simple palette yet never afraid to explore the use of dominant features or pops of colour to highlight my points of focus.
I create a message or moment through a clean and peaceful space that tells a story and gives the viewer something to think about.
